Wedding announcement - Mallory Meyers & Josiah Washburn

Mallory Christine Meyers, daughter of Michael Meyers of Arthur, Ill., and Kathy Eadie of Sullivan, Ill., and Josiah Jesse Washburn, son of Kieth and Marcia Washburn of Brush, were united in Christian marriage on June 3, 2012 in Flagstaff, Ariz.

The double ring ceremony was held in a beautiful outdoor setting and was officiated by Pastor Kelly Cupples of Life Fellowship Church in Fort Morgan.

Grandparents of the bride are Lorna and Lyman Meyers of Arthur, Ill., and the late IdaMae Eadie. The groom's grandparents are Phyllis Carlock of Wiggins, the late Leon Washburn, and the late Les and Elva Paulsen.

The bride was escorted to the sunflower-adorned altar by her father. She wore an elegant white gown with beaded bodice and a flounced train and carried a sunflower bouquet. Her sister, Emily Meyers, served as maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Karla Sue, Ana Gurrio, and Candace Shepard, all of the Phoenix-area, and Kaycie Sander of Matton, Ill. They wore pool blue cocktail-length dresses and carried gerbera daisies.

Timothy Washburn of Fort Collins, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Philip Washburn of Orlando, Fla., Nate Washburn of Fort Collins, and Dr. John Washburn of Springfield, Mo., brothers of the groom, Jason Waters of Aurora, and Vince Lavato of Phoenix. They wore black tuxedos with pool blue vests. The groom was distinguished by a white vest.

After exchanging rings, the couple placed copies of their wedding vows into a wood goblet featuring free-floating rings around the stem. The goblet was hand-turned from a single piece of wood by the groom's father. Following the ceremony, friends and family gathered for a luncheon followed by a dance. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Cancun.

The bride graduated from Mattoon High School in Mattoon, Ill., and is a certified massage therapist. The groom graduated from Brush High School in 2003 and attended Colorado State University with a specialty in criminal justice. He is currently employed by the State of Arizona Department of Corrections. The couple makes their home in San Tan Valley, Ariz.
